Hill Myna
Yesterday morning as I was heading to the shower I noticed this bird sitting on the corner of our roof. The battery was dead in my Nikon, so I was only able to get pictures with the point-and-click Canon.
The quality isn't great, but this is a Hill Myna. This was the first and only time I've seen a myna bird in our neighborhood. They are not native to the U.S. and don't have any established populations anywhere in North America except in Miami, Hawaii, and certain big cities in California.
Hill Myna, May 14, 2010, about 6:30 a.m., in my backyard, taken with the Canon PowerShot. Identified in iBird (Mynas don't appear in my California guides).
