Duck Pond revisted

We are going to Kansas for a few days tomorrow, so maybe when we get back I'll have a few guest Midwestern birds to post.  A nice fat Robin would be nice, or a Blue Jay or Cardinal.  In the meantime, here are a few duck pond pictures taken by my wife on a recent visit.

A Black-crowned Night Heron with some ducks and pigeons. What a great looking bird.  And such a cool name, to boot.

A lovely domestic Pekin Duck in a sea of other birds - Pekins, Mallards, gulls, and I think even a Night Heron in the background on the left.

And a sweet little Muscovy Duck.  I'm only noticing the Muscovies for the first time this year.  I don't know if they are new to the duck pond or just new to me.  They are super sweet and very gentle.  I'm glad to know them.
